TraptLight recently entered a contest for a Web site redesign courtesy of Bludomain and Shootsac. The contest had you create an image using:

1. A Shootsac (a customized, ubercool camera bag)
2. A flamingo
3. The color blue

Here’s what we came up with.

Matt actually went through crumbling old 1940s copies of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to find the perfect ad to use for this. Here’s the original.

While we didn’t win a new Web design, we did manage to snag a brand new shootsac through the deal! So, next time you see us, we’ll be strollin’ with our new camera bag. Oughta be cool.

We got a great card in the mail from Alicia and Curtis. It’s always nice to get these; you guys are awesome!

We’re back online; which means we’ve got a nice backlog of photos to add to the blog. Here’s a preview from Brooke and James’ wedding in Kirksville. More soon!

While the new system to order your prints online is awesome, here at TraptLight Central we have a minor setback… our DSL is down. We can’t get new photos into the system for a week or so.

Our new Internet provider kindly granted us a temporary dial-up connection until they get us up and running. Unfortunately, it is impossible to get print-quality photos online at such a slow speed. Getting pictures on the blog will be horribly slow as well; so, impatient as we are, it might be a little while before we show you how awesome Brooke and James’ wedding was.

The good news is that we’re still plugging away off-line. Picture DVDs are still on schedule!

The blog has been oddly silent recently and it isn’t just because we’ve been busy reading Harry Potter. We’re moving tomorrow! Right at this moment the cameras are sitting sadly in a box with all of our other equipment.

But to make it up to you, we’ve added a new service. Now new weddings and engagement session prints can be ordered online through www.traptlight.smugmug.com. To keep your photos personal, each session is protected by a password.

The best deal is still getting the photo DVD of all of your prints, but now you won’t have to loan your disc out to Mom or run to the photo processor to get Uncle Hugo a copy of that cute picture of the flower girl hand-placing the flowers meticulously down the aisle. Just send them the link and password and they can order them securely online.

Even better, we can add to your gallery while we’re working on your photos. While you can’t get the full DVD of your finished images until all of them are 100% complete (typically close to 5 weeks), we can start adding each picture as soon as it is finished.

Well… it’s back to painting and packing/unpacking!
